Frequently Asked Questions

  • What type of payment methods do you accept?

    • We accept all major credit cards, money orders, and cash payments. 
  • Can I get a full refund?

    • Our training agreement that is signed by both the student and parent states that there will be no refund if TWP is willing and able to complete all training within six months of the first day of training. 
  • How do you cancel a scheduled driving lesson?

    • A 24-hour notice is required to reschedule or cancel an in-vehicle lesson. 
    • $50 rescheduling fee will be charged if we do not receive appropriate notice.
    • Cancel by calling the office (614-948-2305) and leaving a voicemail or even send this # a text message regarding the cancellation. 
    • Cancellation can also be done by sending us an email to the driving school 24-hours before lesson (driving@twpacademy.com).
  • Can I begin driving without a learners permit?

    • No. The law requires you to have a learners permit when driving behind the wheel with a licensed driver. 
  • How often are Teen classes offered?

    • Teen Classes are offered once a quarter via virtual zoom or in-person. (please see our calendar for the most current class dates) 
  • How long does it take to complete the entire program?

    • A teenager (under 18yrs) typically can complete our full program within 3 months, if the student has successfully completed all required  50 hours of driving with parents, and shows proof of certificate of completion for on-line drivers education. 
    • Adult Program - We have a maximum of 90 days to complete behind-the-wheel adult training however our adults typically finish our program within 30 days (depending upon the students availability). 
  • Can I start my in-cars without my classroom portion completed?

    • No. Effective July 1, 2021 all students under 18 must complete all required 24 hours of drivers ed classroom before getting behind the wheel services with a licenced instructor. 
    • Students MUST register with proof of online learning being completed by emailing us the certificate of completion. The certificate will not be accepted if it's been over 1year.
  • Do you offer discounts?

    • Currently we offer a $25 discount for siblings that are enrolling at the same time with a FULL payment. 
  • Do you help with Maneuverability only?

    • Yes we help with maneuverability @$100/hr (minimum payment would be for 2hrs) 
  • What car will I be trained in?

    • Every student drives one of our STUDENT DRIVER vehicles that is inspected by the Ohio Dept of Public Safety which is equipped with a second brake on the passenger side.
  • What type of COVID-19 safety procedures are in place?

    • We host our classroom portion of our program via zoom. We clean/wipe down major surfaces inside the vehicle before, and after every drive. We don't schedule students back to back when doing their in-car lessons to ensure timing. 
    • We practice 6 feet distancing in our office, appointments are required before entering, mask are required in the office as wells as in the car.
