ADULT DRIVER'S EDUCATION
Adult Abbreviated Course
($465)
An applicant who is age 18 or older and who fails their first attempt at the maneuverability or road portion of the driving test, is required to take an abbreviated adult driver training course before attempting the driving test for a second time.
TWP will provide an adult student (18 and older) with 4hours of behind-the-wheel training with a licensed professional driving instructor for $465. Additional hours of training are available to be purchased during the time of registration.

Under 21 Driver Training
($800)
Ohioans age 18, 19, and 20 will be required to take an Ohio-approved driver training course and complete 50 hours of driving practice supervised by a licensed adult to receive a driver license. This “Class D” Driver Training Course aligns with the training requirements that remain in effect for youth age 16 and 17.
The Two Parts of “Class D” Training Course:
- 24 hours of classroom - Instruction can be completed online through any approved online; we also have an online course that you can use: ONLINE 24HR ADULT COURSE
- 8 Hours of behind-the-wheel driving instruction with a licensed driving instructor.
- TWP will provide an adult student (over 18, under 21) with 8-hours of behind-the-wheel training with a professional licensed driving instructor for $800. Additional hours of training are available to be purchased during the time of registration.
- TWP will not provide pick up/drop off services for this program. Students will meet instructor at TWP.
50-Hours of Practice Driving Requirement
- Must complete 50 hours of driving, including at least 10 hours of night driving, with a licensed driver age 21 or older
- Must complete the Fifty-Hour Affidavit form.
Adult Driving Lessons for Temporary Residents ($800)
A non-renewable, non-transferrable (limited term) license is the form of driver license issued to temporary residents in the United States that is valid for the duration of their stay. A temporary resident is a person who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident under U.S. immigration laws, but who does have legal presence in the country.
If you have a temporary permit card that looks any of the images provided, starting June 30, 2025, you will be required to take an Ohio-approved driver training course, and complete 50-hours of driving with a licensed adult, prior to scheduling your Driving Tests with an Ohio Driver Examiner.
